City Robotics Group in the MIT Media Lab held a design•a•hack•a•thon in collaboration with US San Diego Design Lab. The theme was designing a socially intelligent system for the future city mobility. My team designed a bicycle helmet that can work as a platform for V2V interaction in the future. With an optimistic mindset towards the computer vision technology, we focused more on how to deliver the information to cyclists and conducted a user test with a quick and dirty prototype. We have won the first prize with $2500 – in the Media Lab’s Instagram feed, I am the tabletop/laptop holder in the first video, and I am wearing the helmet in the second picture!
